Veedels Radio

aus Köln, für den Rest der Welt: Veedelsradio!

That veedelsradio is streamed form Cologne, seems to be the only relation to Cologne (and of course their nice picture). The music is more or less chart’s pablum, heavly spiced with the sounds of the 80’s . Not my favorite taste. According to their guestbook, they also provide moderated shows, I never listened to that.
Stream is mp3 @ 128kbit, metadata is supplied, but songs are crossfaded. The connectivity is good.

yesterday i installed skype. it works nicely out of the box, even under linux. but linux version is quite old (1.3.0.53 vs 3.1.0.144). therefore my client maybe not support all features like yours (keep this in mind). especially video calls. if you are interested to skype me, drop me a line, i will send you my skype-name. by the way i’ve also a sipgate account with cologne landline number. sipgate has joint network with freenet.de and strato, therefore you can call free from there.
If you are not familiar with skype, it is a proprietary implementation of VOIP (voice over ip). that means, if your computer has a mike and can make sounds and is connected to internet, you can use it for phone calls . this service is free for calling other skypers.

south african wild life II: Phymateus Leprosus

Nice african bushhopper, looks rather created by Japanese Manga designer, than a creation of nature. The size was a few centimeters. The picture was taken Dec’06 in Noetzie / Knysna Castle (located here)

For someone like me, grown up with that what civilization has left over from German nature, this nice Caelifera (Kurzfühlerschrecken) looks like a freak of nature. If you see them, it is not too hard to imagine, that they were the main actors of one of the plagues, mentioned in the splatter stories of the old testament (אַרְבֶּה / Exodus 10:1-20).

If you think it is a yucky creature, I will oppose Cmdr. Spock’s most famoust quote: “Fascinating!”

die musik reisst mich ja nicht vom hocker, aber:
… wurde Söllner zur Zahlung von 90.000 DM verurteilt. Es handelt sich hierbei um die höchste bisher in Deutschland wegen Beleidigung verhängte Geldstrafe. Seine gesamten Geldstrafen belaufen sich mittlerweile auf über 150.000 Euro… (wikipedia)
